DAY OF THE LORD - ORDER OF EVENTS - INTRO
 

With Scriptures briefly stated or paraphrased.

NOTE: The Day of the Lord is the day He appears in the clouds over Israel.  We have included events which happen before and after.

By comparing the 77 passages of Scripture on the opposite page which describe the Day of the Lord, the following Order of Events becomes obvious.

This outline is condensed study material -- it is not a novel.

For ease of reference these events are numbered, but many of them happen at the same time.

1/  THE WORKING OF INIQUITY IS HINDERED BY THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD

You have heard
that the spirit of anti-Christ would come-
-it is already in the world.
1 Jn.4:3

The wicked spirit of
the ruler of this world's darkness
is now working in disobedient children.
Eph.2:2, 6:12

The mystery of iniquity
is already at work,
but is being hindered.
2Th.2:7

The Spirit of the Lord
lifts up a standard against the enemy.

until He is removed.

2/  APOSTASY  (begins in 1914, intensifies in 1955)

Floods of ungodly men brought fear.

3/  FALSE CHRISTS DECEIVE MANY

Many false christs and false prophets
deceive many.

4/  WARS AND COMMOTIONS, NOT THE END (1914 - 1945, World Wars 1 and 2)

Wars and rumors of wars
not the end.

Wars and rumors of wars,
end not yet.

Wars and commotions, be not afraid,
end is not by and by.
Lke.21:9

(M.S.)  In 1926 build houses light of straw and sticks, for then shall mighty wars be planned.

5/  JEWS AND CHRISTIANS HATED, IMPRISONED AND KILLED

NOTE:  This is the Great Persecution.  It began with the Bolshevik Revolution in 1918 and will continue into the GREAT Tribulation.  (see page 13)  (see Rev.6:9-11; 13:7,15; 15:2; 20:4)

You shall be afflicted, hated and killed
by all nations for Jesus' sake
Mat.24:9

You will be beaten, tried, imprisoned, and hated
for Jesus' sake.
Mrk.13:9-13

They shall persecute you in trials and prisons,
you will be hated and killed.
Lke.21:12-17

Jesus said, 'In the world
you will have tribulation.'

We must through much tribulation
enter God's Kingdom.

God comforts

After that tribulation,

NOTE:  There has always been tribulation, and it will continue until the GREAT Tribulation.  Spiritual saints suffer tribulation but NOT the GREAT Tribulation.  The saints who go into the GREAT Tribulation are worldly.

6/  ISRAEL GATHERED  (1948)

When the Lord builds up Zion,
He shall appear in His glory.

With great mercies will I gather you.

Ships of Tarshish,
to bring thy sons from far
with their silver and gold.

A nation born at once.
Isa.66:8

Israel gathered from nations.

into their own land.

7/  NATION AGAINST NATION, KINGDOM AGAINST KINGDOM, EARTHQUAKES, FAMINES AND PESTILENCES ARE THE BEGINNING OF SORROWS (Mat.24:7-8)  (1955....)

Sorrows, distress and prayer.
Psa.18:4-6

Nations and kingdoms at war,
earthquakes, famines, troubles, begin sorrows.
Mrk.13:8

Nations, kingdoms at war, earthquakes,
famines, pestilence, fearful sights.
Lke.21:10-11

After that tribulation,
sun and moon darkened, sky shakes,
Jesus seen in clouds.
Mrk.13:24

NOTE:  Jesus will appear in the clouds after the tribulation of the Great Persecution, after the nation and kingdom wars, the earthquake, famine and pestilence beginning of sorrows, just before the GREAT Tribulation in which the wrath of God and the Lamb is poured out.

8/  THE JEWS AND ANTICHRIST NATIONS SIGN PEACE AGREEMENT  (1DL -- year 1 of Daniel's seventieth week of years.  This week of 7 years is sometimes called the Day of the Lord.)

He (satan through his people v 26)
shall confirm the covenant (of peace)
with many for one week.

9/  JEWS DWELL SAFELY FOR THREE AND A HALF (3 1/2) YEARS  (1 -- 3 & 1/2 DL)

Israel dwells safely.
Ezk.38:8,11,14;  39:26

The day of the Lord comes as a thief,
when they shall say peace and safety,
sudden destruction.
1Th.5:2-3

False prophets say peace, peace
when there is no peace.
Jer.6:14

By peace a fierce king destroys many.
Dan.8:25

10/  FALSE PROPHETS TRY TO DECEIVE THE ELECT BY SAYING JESUS HAS COME IN THE DESERT OR IN THE SECRET CHAMBERS (of the temple)

If any man says,
Christ is here or there,
believe it not.
Mat.24:23

If they say
He is in the inner rooms
believe it not.
Mat.24:26

The days will come when Jesus' disciples
will desire to see one of His days (on earth)
and will not see it.
They will tell you: see here, see there--go not.
For the Son of man will
shine like lightening in His day.
Lke.17:22-24

NOTE:  During these 3 1/2 years, those who are looking for Jesus to appear on earth as a mortal man will be very gullible to the false prophets who will be saying 'Christ has come -- He's in the desert' or 'He's in the temple.'  And some will be deceived along with the Jews by the man of sin who sits in the temple of God as God at the end of these 3 1/2 years.

11/  GOSPELL PREACHED TO ALL THE WORLD

This gospell of the kingdom
will be preached in all the world
for a witness to all nations;
then shall the end come.
Mat.24:14
